Application area of the mower
The Bowell EFGC-HFL flail mower series features special hydraulic valves that enable a free-wheel function when the hydraulics are switched off. With a working width of up to 175 cm, the robust EFGC-HFL mowers can be optimally adapted to the power and width of your wheel loader, telescopic loader or farm loader.
EFGC-HFL mowers can be used effectively on medium-sized areas with a grass height of up to 75 cm, where mowing is only required two or three times a year.
Lignified plant parts up to 25 mm in diameter, twigs, smaller branches and even small bushes are reliably shredded by the mower. EFGC-HFL mowers are true all-round flail mowers for wheel loaders/farm loaders, as they are suitable for both light tasks such as regular mowing of horse pastures and for mowing significantly thicker vegetation, yet are still extremely attractively priced flail mowers.
Technology of the EFGC-HFL mower
Depending on the working width, the EFGC-HFL flail mowers are equipped with 18 to 26 of the heavy, hardened 800 g Bowell high-performance flails. The newly developed, replaceable counter-blades inside the flail mowers ensure optimum mowing results even with stubborn undergrowth and bushes.
The cutting height is set between 20 and 75 mm using the heavy, ball-bearing mounted, self-cleaning rear roller. The height-adjustable side skids on the flail mower prevent the mower from mowing into the ground on bumps. We use sturdy stainless steel grease nipples.
The reinforced hydraulic gearbox on the mower ensures that the heavy flail shaft can continue to run after the PTO drive has been switched off. This is ensured by special hydraulic safety valves that also activate if the rotor shaft becomes blocked. The metal slats attached to the front of the flail mower prevent stones and other foreign objects from flying around. EFGC-HFL mulchers are factory-fitted with a gearbox for up to 60 L/min hydraulic flow. Your wheel loader/telescopic loader should have a flow capacity of over 40 L/min to achieve the full grass height. If your vehicle has a flow capacity significantly less than 40 L/min, the EFGC-HFL mulcher can only be used for grass heights up to 50 cm. The EFGC-HFL mulchers are available in two versions with two or three connection lines (additional leak oil line).
SKF ball bearings
Underneath the mower's solid 4 mm thick steel cover is a laser-balanced rotor shaft with 18 to 26 hardened high-performance flails, each weighing 800 g. The flails have bevelled surfaces on the inside, which prevent deposits from sticking to them.
All EFGC-HFL mowers are equipped with SKF ball bearings, which are protected from external influences in solid, CNC-milled bearing seats. The new stainless steel grease nipples are easily accessible on the outside of the mulcher housing and protected against contamination and damage.
The rotor shaft of the mowers rotates at up to 2100 rpm and shreds the cut material to a minimum so that it can rot quickly. The heavy, ball-bearing trailing roller guarantees smooth running.
The EFGC-HFL mulchers are supplied with 3 hydraulic lines (pressure line, return line, leak oil line), but can be converted for connection to machines with only two connections if required. The comprehensive operating instructions explain the assembly, commissioning and maintenance of the mowers in detail and also provide exploded drawings of the flail mower assembly.
The mowers are delivered fully assembled in sturdy Bowell wooden crates. Only the front support wheels and the wheel loader or EURO mount need to be attached to the mower, which takes about 30 minutes.
Mower with drive system and 4 drive belts
Like all Bowell mowers, Bowell EFGC-HFL mowers are equipped with an electronically finely balanced flail shaft, which is driven by three or four 17 mm wide drive belts, depending on the working width of the mower.
From a working width of 175 cm, a 4-fold belt drive with reinforced pulleys is used in the mower, which enables almost 100% power transmission with barely measurable power loss and minimal wear, even with a high flail weight.
The new belt cover allows the belt tension to be checked without having to remove the cover from the flail mower. This makes your service and maintenance work much easier.
